Judicial discretion in extending interim orders under Article 226 of the Constitution, with the expectation of appropriate consideration by the original judge.

Headnote:This judgment pertains to a writ appeal where the appellants challenged the extension of an interim order by a learned Single Judge under Article 226(3) of the Constitution. The court noted that the application numbered I.A.No.1 of 2026 should be considered by the learned Single Judge. The appeal concluded without directions, emphasizing judicial discretion.

Sathish Ninan, J.

The grievance of the appellants is that, in spite having filed an application under Article 226 (3) of the Constitution, the learned Single Judge has extended the interim order granted on 25/11/2025 for a further period of three months, without considering the application.

2. The application is numbered as I.A.No.1 of 2026.

We are sure that, if the filing of the above application is brought to the notice of the learned Single Judge, appropriate orders would be passed taking note of the same.

No directions are called for in this appeal. The appeal is closed.
