JUDGMENT

The petitioner, who is a senior citizen aged 70 years approached the Tribunal seeking maintenance under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 which is pending there. However, he has approached this Court with a request to direct the respondent/Maintenance Tribunal to consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P1 complaint filed by the petitioner, within a time bound manner.

2. The learned Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent.

3. Having regard to the urgency involved in this writ petition, this Court is of the view that a direction as sought for can be granted. Accordingly, the respondent/Maintenance Tribunal is directed to dispose of Ext.P1 complaint as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this judgment, after affording notice and an opportunity of hearing to both sides, in accordance with law.
