The petitioner is the holder of an Indian Passport (Ext.P1). According to the petitioner, his actual date of birth is 24.07.1963. However, the same was wrongly shown as 24.07.1960 in the passport. The petitioner states that the date of birth entered in the Passport is different from that in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate, Driving License and other public documents. Though the petitioner has submitted Ext.P9 representation before the respondent, it is not so far considered. The writ petition is filed for a direction to the respondent to correct the date of birth as 24.07.1963 in Ext.P1.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India.
3. The learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, on instruction, submits that Ext.P9 is only a representation and the petitioner has to submit appropriate application for correction of date of birth in the Passport.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will submit a fresh application for correction of date of birth, within two weeks.
