Versus

WP(C) NO. 24475 OF 2018

Advocates:
For the Appellants/Petitioners: SHRI.K.M.GEORGE

The court may dismiss a writ petition if the petitioner is uninterested in prosecution and fails to respond to notices.

Headnote:The judgment concerns a writ petition where the petitioner, having relinquished representation, was deemed uninterested in pursuing the case. The court determined that notice sent was not acknowledged by the petitioner, leading to dismissal of the writ petition. The court concluded that the petitioner’s lack of engagement required such a dismissal of the case.

JUDGMENT

Dated this the 17th day of March, 2026 When the matter was taken up for consideration today, counsel appearing for the petitioner originally submitted that he had relinquished the vakalath. In such circumstances, notice was sent directly to the party on 23.02.2026. However, the petitioner refused to receive the notice. Under such circumstances, it appears that the petitioner is no longer interested in prosecuting the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
