J U D G M E N T

The writ petition is filed with the following prayers;

“i) Issues a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, direction or order directing respondent no. 1 to provide adequate and effective police protection to the life of the petitioner in order to participate in the election of Chemmaruthy Service Co-Operative Bank Ltd. T 328 which will be held on 15/3/2026 from threat and abuse of respondents no. 2 to 13 .

ii) Issues a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, direction or order directing respondent no. 1 to provide adequate and effective police protection to the life of the petitioner and his family from threat and abuse of respondent no. 2 to 13 .

iii) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondents no. 1 to consider and act on Exhibits-P3 representation/complaint forthwith and to provide adequate and effective police protection to the life of the petitioner and his family.

iv) To dispense with the translation of documents in vernacular language.

v) Grant such other reliefs which this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice.”

2. This Court had passed the following order on 13th March

2026.

“I.A. No. 1 of 2026 This is an application to implead the Kerala State Co-operative Election Commissioner as additional

14th respondent. Heard. Allowed.

The Registry is directed to make suitable changes in the records.

W.P.(C) No. 9487of 2026 The learned Government Pleader takes notice for the first respondent. Issue notice by special messenger to respondents 2 to 13. Sri. C.M. Nazar appears for the additional 14th respondent.

The learned counsel for the Election Commission submits that he has already sought for police protection. However, taking note of the allegation of the petitioner apprehending overt acts, there will be a direction to the SHO to take such steps to prevent respondents 2 to 13 or their supporters from physically obstructing the petitioner in any manner, if a complaint is preferred by the petitioner.”

3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the election is over.

Under such circumstances, nothing further remains to be considered in this writ petition and the same is closed as infructuous.
