For the Appellants/Petitioners: SRI.K.R.VINOD, SMT.M.S.LETHA
For the Respondents: SRI SYAMANTHAK B.S.
The court determined that once a Final Report is filed, the basis for quashing the FIR loses significance, but the petitioners retain rights to challenge the Final Report.
Headnote:This judgment deals with CRL.MC NO. 2778 OF 2021 concerning the FIR registered at Ranni Police Station. The court noted that the Investigating Agency had filed a Final Report, rendering the prayer to quash the FIR moot. The court stated that the petitioners retain the right to contest the Final Report if desired. Key issues were whether the FIR merits quashing; the court determined that due process had been observed, resulting in closure of the petition. The final ruling allows potential challenges against the Final Report.
