J U D G M E N T
The petitioners had participated in the item Oppana in the Kollam District School Youth Festival held at Karunagappally. It is stated that while they were performing, one of the participants of the item had suffered an electric shock and that affected the performance of the team as a whole. Resultantly, inspite of their much superior performance in the past, petitioners were given only A grade and third prize. It is stated that those only securing A grade with first prize can participate in the State Meet.
2. In view of the fact that the aforesaid mishap had affected their performance and also ranking, petitioners filed an appeal before the Appellate Committee, of which the 1st respondent is the Chairman. Petitioners submit that appeal is still pending and at the same time, the State Level Meet is fast approaching. In view of this, this writ petition has been filed praying for permitting the petitioners to participate in the State WPC 36961/07 :2 :
Level Youth Festival Competition, which is scheduled to commence fromthe first week of January, 2008.
