J U D G M E N T

GOPINATH, J.

This is an application for the issue of a writ of habeas corpus filed by the father of one Naomi Joseph. According to the petitioner, his daughter is in the illegal custody of the fourth respondent. Following issuance of notice, the fourth respondent has appeared along with the petitioner's daughter (the alleged detenue).

2. We have interacted with the petitioner, and the fourth respondent and also with the alleged detenue. The petitioner's daughter has informed us that she has no objection in living with her parents. It is submitted that she intends to complete her studies by living with her parents. However, she points out that the petitioner has been compelling her to end her relationship with the fourth respondent.

3. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader, and having interacted with the petitioner, the fourth respondent, and also with the alleged detenue, we are of the opinion that the alleged detenue is not under any illegal custody and she can be permitted to live with her parents as per her wishes and complete her studies.

4. We make it clear that the alleged detenue shall not be subjected to any haras
