I(i). These appeals are against the judgment of the learned Single Judge which found the writ petitioners to have no status of statutory employment and negatived their claim for regularisation as University teachers. The appointment of the appellants were found to be contractual and their service being in Self Financing Institutions( hereinafter SFI's), it was held, they cannot claim University Grants Commission (for short “UGC”) scales of pay especially on the ground of the institution being not a recipient of any funds from the UGC.
