JUDGMENT

Petitioner is a lawyer by profession, who was enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Chhattisgarh and is mainly practising in the High Court at Chhattisgarh with Enrollment No.CG/671/2010. Petitioner's home town is at Pathanamthitta in Kerala. The petitioner now intends to shift the practice from Chhattisgarh to Kerala, by virtue of the enabling provision under Sections 18 of the Advocates Act , 1961 and in view of the supporting provisions under Section 49 (1)(b) conferring power upon the Bar Council of India to transfer the name of a lawyer from one State to another. Necessary application was preferred in the prescribed form by the petitioner vide Ext.P2, also forwarding all the requisite documents including Ext.P3 certificate of entry in the State Roll of Bar Council, Chhattisgarh, Ext.P4 NOC issued by the State Bar Council, Chhattisgarh, along with Ext.P5 Demand Draft for a sum of Rupees Eight Hundred as prescribed. Receipt of the said proceedings, is evidenced by Exts.P6 and P7 returned from the 1st respondent/Bar Council of W.P.C.No.19535OF20132 India.
