The core issue was whether an error in the operative direction of an earlier judgment warrants a review under inherent powers to ensure the relief granted aligns with the original request. The Court held that the mistake was procedural and required correction to give effect to the intent of the earlier order.

Result: The review petition is allowed and the judgment in O.P

(C) No. 774 of 2026 is recalled.

ORDER

The review petition has been filed praying to correct an inadvertent mistake which has crept into the judgment. The prayer in the original petition was for an early disposal of the suit. Based on the report received from the Presiding Officer that the suit can be disposed of within four months after completion of the pre-trial steps, this Court disposed of the original petition with a direction to dispose of the interlocutory applications in four months instead of directing the suit to be disposed of in four months.

In the above circumstances the prayer sought for in the review petition is liable to be allowed. The review petition is allowed and the judgment in O.P(C) No.774 of 2026 is recalled.
