ORDER
This application is filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short, BNSS), seeking regular bail.
2. The applicant is the accused in Crime No.49/2026 of Excise Range Office Aluva, Ernakulam District. The offences alleged are punishable under Sections 21(b) and 60(3) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (for short, the NDPS Act).
3. The prosecution case, in short, is that on
27.4.2026 at 8.20 pm, when the Aluva Excise Range Inspector and his party intercepted the applicant on the road in front of the rest center of the Lorry Operators and Labourers Association Joint Welfare Committee, he was found in possession of 51.284 grams of heroin being smuggled on a Suzuki Swish 125 vehicle bearing registration No. KL-42-G-8139 in contravention of the NDPS Act and thereby committed the offences.
