THIS TRANSFER PETITION (CRIMINAL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 19.06.2026, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:

ORDER

The accused in C.C.No.1511/2017 on the files of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-III, Thrissur, a case relating to the commission of offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, instituted by the first respondent herein, has filed this transfer petition for transferring the aforesaid case from the said court to any other court. The reason stated is that the petitioner is a Lawyer, regularly practicing at the court centre at Thrissur, and hence it may cause embarrassment to him to appear, and undergo trial in the aforesaid case.

2. Though notice has been duly served to the first respondent/complainant, he did not opt to appear before this Court or to prefer any counter affidavit.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Public Prosecutor representing the State of Kerala.

4. Having regard to the reasons stated by the petitioner for the transfer of the case from the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-III, Thrissur, to any other court, I deem it appropriate to allow the request in the above regard
