BY ADV.

SREEHARI INDUKALADHARAN, GOVERNMENT PLEADER

THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 23.06.2026, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:

JUDGMENT

Ext.P5 is an application, preferred by the petitioner, seeking transfer of registry. The same is pending before the 2nd respondent/Village Officer. Petitioner seeks the same to be considered expeditiously. It was pointed out that the subject property was originally purchased by the petitioner's husband, and pursuant to his death, the petitioner is seeking transfer of registry. The solitary obstacle, which was pointed out by the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner's husband, pursuant to the purchase, had not effected mutation.

2. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader, the obstacle referred above, by itself, cannot be a reason for not effecting transfer of registry. In the circumstances, there will be a direction to the 2nd respondent/Village Officer, to take appropriate action in Ext.P5, in accordance with law, expeditiously, at any rate, within a period 2 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Petitioner will produce a copy of this judgment before the 2nd respondent, for compliance.

The Writ Petition will stand allowed, as indicated above.
