This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.73 of 2023 pending investigation before the first respondent.

2. Heard Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel for petitioners and Mr.A.Gopinath, learned Government Advocate [Crl.Side] appearing for first respondent.

3. It is brought to the notice of this Court that there was a dispute with regard to usage of burial ground and the dispute involved three villages. Hence, three First Information Reports came to be registered in Crime Nos.71, 72 and 73 of 2023 by the first respondent on 04.02.2023.

4. There was a subsequent development that took place in this case wherein the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruttani, called the parties for enquiry and a decision was arrived at, which was recorded in proceedings dated 16.02.2023. 5. In the light of the above development, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the investigation in the pending First Information Reports. Hence, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to close the First Information Reports pending in Crime Nos.71, 72 and 73 of 2023. This process shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
