O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to take necessary action on the representation dated 01.02.2024 regarding the irregular allotment of houses under four different schemes viz., Kalaingar Houses, Indira Houses, Thane House and PMAY within a time limit.

2. The brief facts of the case are as follows:-

(i) The total population of Anangur village is about 4000 and there are 46 Panchayats in Koliyanur Panchayat Union. In order to provide houses to the poor under the PMAY(Rural) Scheme economic status of individuals was ordered in the year 2011 and as per the economic assessment, 200 beneficiaries were identified as eligible to get houses under the PMAY (Rural) Scheme. Accordingly Rs.1.20 Lakh was sanctioned to each beneficiary and the 5th respondent after taking charge as BDO, Koliyanur joined hands with the 8th respondent and other officials and allotted houses under the PMAY scheme to those who already own 2 or 3 or 4 houses and all such irregular allottees were provided with money, cement and steel.
