O R D E R
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Standing counsel appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent.
2. The writ petitioner is an occupant of the petition mentioned agricultural lands as a cultivating tenant. His name has been duly entered into in the Record of tenancies vide proceedings dated 25.09.2019 on the file of the Tahsildar, Srirangam. The petitioner seeks provision of electricity service connection for carrying out his agricultural operations. The petitioner's request has been rejected by the first respondent primarily on the ground that the agricultural service connections can be granted only in the name of the land owner. This stand of the first respondent is assailed in this writ petition.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner reiterated all the contentons set out in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition and called upon this Court to set aside the impugned order and to grant the relief as prayed for.
