ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR,J.)
This writ petition has been filed against the order passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai Bench in M.A.No.571 of 2023 in O.A.No.1022 of 2023 dated 21.11.2023.
2. The writ petitioners were applicants before the Tribunal. They claimed that they had been working as Nurses at various Government hospitals of the Puducherry administration during covid-19 period i.e., 2020 and 2021.
3. Though they had been working during the entire covid-19 period taking several risks, their services have not been regularized and in this context, the Government had come forward by issuance of notification to go for a recruitment process to select Nurses in the vacancies available with them to be appointed in various hospitals run by the Puducerry administration.
4. Insofar as the candidates, who had been appointed on adhoc basis or engaged on adhoc basis during covid-19 period to meet out the contingencies arise out of the covid-19 situation, if they had worked for more than 100 days, in order to recognise their services during the needy period of covid-19 situation, some preference must be given to those candidates in public employment
