COMMON ORDER

W.P.(MD)No.21713 of 2024, has been filed seeking orders to direct the respondents to give permission to the all peoples from various place in the state to participate in the function of Nadukal Mariyathai, Pongal Kummipattu on 14.09.2024 in the place of Keelathooval Village, Mudukulathur Taluk, Ramanathapuram District in the light of the petitioner's representation, dated 03.09.2024.

2. W.P.(MD)No.21732 of 2024, has been filed seeking orders to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to grant permission to pay tribute to our ancestor on 14.09.2024 at Keelathuval, Ramanathapuram by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 24.08.2024.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has filed the status report of the third respondent and the Government Advocate (Civil Side) appearing for the District Collector has filed the letter sent by the District Collector. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that from the year 1957 the villagers and the relatives of five persons were alone permitted to pay their tribute and no outsiders were permitted sofar and that the petitioner has given representation for permitting outsiders to participate in the above said festival and the same will create law and order problem greatly.

4. It is not in dispute that the representations given by the petitioners, dated 24.08.2024 and 03.09.2024 are pending before the second respondent.

5.Considering the above, the Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram District, is directed to consider the petitioners' representations, dated 24.08.2024 and 03.09.2024 and pass orders today itself.

6. With the above direction, these Writ Petitions stand disposed of.

No costs.
