ORDER
The petitioner seeks a direction for payment of his terminal benefits. The petitioner joined the Port Trust as a Supervisor Grade II on 29.03.1980. He was subsequently promoted as Supervisor Grade I with effect from 12.12.1982. There was a further promotion in the year 1986.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the Port Trust would submit that the Port Trust has made all attempts to have the community certificate of the petitioner verified and a typed set has been filed by the Port Trust demonstrating that it has issued as many as 20 remainders to the State Level Scrutiny Committee, seeking a verification of the community certificate of the petitioner. According to the learned counsel for the Port Trust, there has been no response from the State Level Scrutiny Committee. The very purpose of verification of a community certificate is to ensure that the benefits are not taken away by wrong persons.
5 . Hence, this Writ Petition is allowed. There will be a direction to the Port Trust to calculate the terminal benefits in full and pay the same to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a
