ORDER

The petitioner submits that certain electric pole were erected in his property in the course of implementation of “Mettur – Sarabanga Lift Irrigation Project”. These poles were erected by the eighth respondent, who is the contractor engaged by the Executive Engineer of the TANGEDCO, the seventh respondent. While, the petitioner is not opposed to the idea of installation of electric poles in his property, he is seriously concerned by the manner in which these poles were erected. According to him, there is zero safety by the manner in which these electric poles have been erected.

2.Mr.K.Rajkumar, learned Standing Counsel for the TANGEDCO takes notice for the respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.C.Kathiravan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the fifth respondent.

3.The learned Standing Counsel for the TANGEDCO has submitted his written typed set of papers, wherein, he had indicated that each of the electric poll was supported by a concrete foundation and that, notwithstanding the fact the iron poll itself can operate for earthing, the TANGEDCO is providing separate earthing facility to each of the polls.

The typed set of papers also contains photographs showing the same.

4.The learned counsel for the TANGEDCO added that this separate earthing facility has been provided only to some of the electric poles and for the rest, the TANGEDCO had sought the permission of the superior Authorities and that will be done shortly. He also clarified, for the electric pole in the petitioner's property, separate earthing has already been given.

5.In view of the same, there is nothing this Court needs to decide in this matter. The Writ Petition is accordingly closed. No costs.
