ORDER

The Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to issue passport to the Petitioner in Application NO.MD 2074655168122, dated 7.10.2022, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.Mrs.L.Victoria Gowri, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India takes notice for the first respondent and Mr.B.Thanga Aravindh, learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) takes notice for the second respondent. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.The case of the Petitioner is that the Petitioner had applied for passport in the year 2005 and was issued with the same in Passport No.F6478511 by the Regional Passport Officer, Tiruchirappalli, which is valid for a period of ten years from the date of issuance.The Petitioner had worked as Driver in Maldives from the year 2007 to 2016 and thereafter the Petitioner applied for renewal of passport in the year 2015 and passport has been issued to him in Passport No.0491456 by the first respondent, which is valid for a further period of ten years. Due to illhealth and Covid-19 pandemic, the Petitioner had not gone to abroad.
