This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents/police 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's daughter viz., Krishnapriya, aged about 28 years, before this Court from the illegal custody of the 3rd respondent and set her at liberty.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Krishnapriya, aged about 28 years, went missing since 17.09.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that earlier the petitioner's daughter Krishnapriya went missing on 14.01.2020, in connection with which, on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Panruti Police Station Crime No.31 of 2020 was registered on 22.01.2020 for 'woman missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Krishnapriya has eloped with Thamizh, third respondent herein, who is a married man and also having one child; Krishnapriya was secured by the police and produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Panruti and thereafter, she was handed over to the petitioner. He further submitted that again the petitioner's daughter has gone missing from 17.09.2021, in connection with which, on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Panruti Police Station Crime No.936 of 2021 has been registered on 21.09.2021 for 'woman missing' and the investigation so far conducted revealed that Krishnapriya has run away with the third respondent again.
In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Panruti Sub- Division, to supervise the investigation in Panruti Police Station Crime No.936 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Krishnapriya, aged about 28 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Panruti, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
