O R D E R

The petitioner, who is an accused in CC No.122 of 2014 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Ramanathapuram has filed this petition to expedite the trial and conclude the same within a stipulated time.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though the case is of the year 2014, the trial could not be concluded, since the respondent police has not produced some of the witnesses.

3.Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submits that PW 1 to PW 7 have already been examined and two more witnesses have to be examined. Since those witnesses are staying at Canada, they could not produce the witnesses in time.

4.Considering the submissions made by either side, there shall be a direction to the respondent police to take necessary steps and ensure that the examination of witnesses are completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
