A Writ of Quo Warranto cannot be maintained without sufficient supporting documents to show illegality in appointments made by an adhoc committee.

Headnote:Writ of Quo Warranto filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India questioning the appointment of respondents 3 & 4 to the Indian Red Cross Society's Administrative Committee. The petitioner's argument regarding a plaque at the Mahatma Gandhi statue arose from a challenge to their statutory appointment, which lacked necessary documentation. The court found this petition unsubstantiated and recommended the petitioner pursue alternative grievance routes. The Writ Petition was disposed of without costs.
