O R D E R
The petitioner has made a request for conducting Aadal Padal event during the Kumbabishekam Festival proposed for their family deity. The said request of the petitioner was rejected by the respondent police by his proceedings dated 04.06.2025 referring to the previous incidents said to have taken place in the village during Aadal Padal programme. As against the order dated 04.06.2025, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the earlier incidents have nothing to do with the petitioner's temple festival. This temple is their family deity. The other incidents referred by the respondent police are pertaining to some other temples and they have nothing to do with the those cases. Even then, the respondent police has mechanically rejected the request of the petitioner by referring to the earlier cases registered in crime No.219 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 353, 332, 427 and 506(ii) of IPC, Crime No. 223 of 2022, for the offence under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(ii) of IPC and Section 4 of TNPHW Act and Crime No.224 of 2022 for the offence under Sections 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(ii) of IPC.
