Prayer: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of

the Criminal Procedure Code, pleased to direct the learned Chief

Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai to dispose the

C.C.No.7435 of 2014, pending trial as expeditiously as possible

within a time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to

direct the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore,

Chennai to dispose the C.C.No.7435 of 2014, pending trial as

expeditiously as possible.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that

the petitioner is the defacto complainant in C.C.No.7435 of

2014, pending trial on the file of the Chief Metropolitan

Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai for the offences punishable under

Sections 403, 420 and 506(i) of IPC.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would further

submit that despite the case being taken on file during the year

2014, the case has not come to a logical end even after lapse of

eight years and thereby, the present petition has been filed

seeking for speedy disposal of the trial in C.C.No.7435 of 2014.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the first

respondent would submit that in this case there are totally 13

witnesses and it is now stands posted for arguments on

10.05.2022.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the

learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the first respondent

and perused the materials available on record.

6. The petitioner is the defacto complainant in C.C.No.7435

of 2014. The case has been registered during the year 2012 and

had taken for trial in C.C.No.7435 of 2014. It is stated that

the case now stands posted for arguments on 10.05.2022.

7. In view of the above, a direction is issued to the

learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai to

dispose the case, as expeditiously as possible, preferably,

within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy

of this order.

8. This Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of with

the above observation and direction.
