Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India,
to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to allot the
petitioner a house in the Slum Clearance Board in Chennai on the
petitioner's petitions dated 04.05.2022, 27.05.2022 and 20.05.2023.

ORDER
The case of the petitioner is that she is a destitute women and that she
has applied for accommodation from the first respondent.
2.The learned counsel for the first respondent submits that the petitioner
needs to provide a salary certificate to show her eligibility for allotment.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is only
working as a maid servant and hence, her case may be considered.
4.The petitioner is now required to approach the third respondent for
issuance of a BPL certificate, whereupon, the third respondent shall hold
such necessary enquiry as she or he may deem fit and issue a BPL
certificate, which can be made used of by the petitioner for applying to
the first respondent for accommodation.

5.The learned counsel for the first respondent added that the applications
for allotment are received both on-line and also physically.
6.The petitioner can also send her application by RPAD.
7.Once the application is received, the first respondent is required to take
a call on the same within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of
the application.
8.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
