Court instructed authorities to conduct a peace committee meeting regarding social boycott issues affecting temple participation.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to

6 to take appropriate action against the private respondents for the social boycotting of the petitioner's family in the village, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 3.3.2025 and enable the petitioner's family to worship the Mariyamman Temple situated at Korakuttai village, Erayamangalam Post, Thiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District by receiving the contribution for the festival from the petitioner. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's family members were socially boycoted by the other group from participating in temple festival, thereby the petitioner made a representation to take action as against the social boycott, however, the same was not considered, hence the present Writ Petition.

Per contra, the learned counsels on the side of the respondents 1 to 6 would submit that there was a temple dispute beween the petitioner's family and rest of the village people and the petitioner was named as 'A' party and one Ravi and Rajendran/ private respondents are named as 'B' Party, on 24.02.2025, at about 7.30 p.m., there was a dispute with regard to the festival of the temple and the petitioner and the opposite group attacked each other, thereby criminal case is registered as against Ravi and Rajendran and others in Crime No.16 of 2025 for offences punishable under Sections 191(2) 296(b) and 115(2) and 133 of BNSS Act. Further, Ravi and Rajendran made a complaint as against the petitioner and a case has been registered against the petitioner in Crime No.17 of 2025 for offences punishable under Section 296(b) and 351(2) BNSS. Thereafter, Inspector of police referred the matter to the Revenue Divisional Officer for conducting peace comittee meeting vide his letter dated 22.03.2025. Therefore, pleaded that peace committee meeting will be conducted by the Revenue Divisional Officer cum Judicial magistrate and appropriate orders will be passed.

Considering the above said submissions made on either side, this Court is inclined to direct the 3^rd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the report of Inpsector of Police, Molsi Police Station, Namakkal District dated 22.03.2025 by conducting peace committee meeting and conclude the same within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
