The present writ petitions are stated to be filed in public interest, seeking a mandamus directing the official respondents to cancel the approval granted for construction of a canteen in the Costal Regulation Zone (CRZ), and remove the same.
2. The admitted location of the canteen is within 100 to 500 metres at the Fish Landing Centre of Uvari Coastal Village, Uvari, Tirunelveli District.
3. On 09.09.2025, we had passed an order of status quo and we come to understand today, that the order of status quo has not been complied with by the Parish Priest, Uvari Parish, Tirunelveli District/R6.
4. We had also called for a Status Report from the Assistant Director of Fisheries, Tirunelveli/R3, and the Report, filed on 22.09.2025 states as follows:-
