ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the the District Collector, Madurai, to consider and pass orders on his representation dated 26.11.2015. By the representation dated 26.11.2015, the petitioner has made a request for issuing a joint patta for lands in S.Nos.477/1B, 477/1A and 477/4 situated in Thiruvathavur Village.

2. The petitioner claims that he along with his wife has purchased these lands by a registered document in Doc.No.543, dated 20.07.1994. However, in the revenue records, it has wrongly been classified as Panchami lands. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 26.11.2015 to the District Collector, Madurai, to rectify this mistake by considering his representation dated 26.11.2015.

3. When this writ petition came up for hearing on 03.10.2023, a stand has been taken by the first respondent that for re-classification of panchami lands, a State Level Committee has been constituted and on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Land Administration, a Government Order has been passed in G.O.Ms.No.12, dated 04.03.2022. For conversion of land either as Panchami land or as non- panchami land, a decision can be taken
