Repeated adjournments in a writ petition can lead to dismissal for non-prosecution.

Headnote:This writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution seeks to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus to quash the order dated 27.02.2021 and grant promotion to the petitioner based on eligibility and seniority. The Court found repeated adjournments sought by the petitioner's counsel indicated a lack of interest in prosecuting the writ petition. The issues framed include whether the matter should proceed given the recurring adjournments and the reasoning provided was that continued non-prosecution warranted dismissal. The final outcome was the dismissal of the writ petition for non-prosecution.
