Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider petitioners representation dated 27.02.2025 by referring the re-conveyance of the land measuring an extent of 8.25 acres comprised in Survey Nos. 141/1A (3.41 acres) and 141/2A (4.84 acres) situated at Nandambakkam Village, Chennai to the Special Committee within the stipulated time fixed by this Honble court For Petitioner : Mr.K.Indumathy Venkatesh For Respondent : Mr.M.R.Gokul Krishnan, AGP

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider petitioners representation dated 27.02.2025.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioners are the Power Agents of the legal heirs of Late.G.Narayanareddy, who was original owner of the subject property. The said property was acquired by the 1^st respondent vide Notification dated 10.07.1962 for the industrial purpose and awarded compensation of Rs.48,575.25. However, the said land remained unutilised for more than 50 years. Hence, the Government had resumed 60.23 Acres of vacant land and sold the same to the India cements.

Under these circumstances, the petitioners filed a writ petition in WP.No.10085 of 2024 to consider their representation dated 18.10.2023, however, the same was disposed of, vide order dated 15.04.2024, by stating that the land vests with the Government and the land can be utilised for any public purpose. The said order was also confirmed in WA.No.2658 of 2024 vide order dated 26.02.2025. Thereafter, the said land was allotted to India cements and other housing units and hence, the petitioners gave a representation dated 27.02.2025 to refer the subject property to the Special Committee for the purpose of re-conveyance. However, the said representation was not at all considered by the respondent till date. Hence, this petition.

4. In reply, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioners' representation dated 27.02.2025 will be disposed of by the respondent within a period of 4 weeks.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent and also perused the entire materials available on record.
