This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first and second respondents to conduct investigation and produce the petitioner's daughter viz. Agalya, aged 16 years, D/o. Murugan, before this Court, from the illegal custody of the third respondent and handover to the petitioner.
2. Today, the police produced the detenue Agalya, aged about 16 years before this Court. The detenue's mother is also present.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter went missing from 01.09.2025 and that she is in the illegal custody of the third respondent; in this regard, she has lodged a complaint before the second respondent/police on 02.09.2025, pursuant to which, a case in Crime No.165 of 2025 for 'girl missing' was registered; however, the police are not taking effective steps to secure her daughter and hence, she has preferred the present habeas corpus petition.
