The petitioner claims that this is a public interest litigation.

The prayer is to break the 150 meter road median on Theni-Periyakulam main road such that there would be direct access to the Government Vetarinary Hospital, Government Fair Price Shop and HP Petro Bunk of Theni Allinagaram.

2. The petitioner has infact made a representation on

11.09.2025 seeking the same relief and hence, it would suffice that the authorities be directed to consider the same.

3. Since Mr.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents states that the representation has been received and that the Assistant Divisional Engineer, Theni / R2 is the competent authority, there is a direction to the Assistant Divisional Engineer, Highways Construction and Maintenance, Bungala Medu, Theni, Theni District / R2 to consider the representation of the petitioner, hear him, take stock of the situation and pass orders on the representation dated 11.09.2025 within a period of six weeks from today, in accordance with law and prevailing guidelines. This writ petition is disposed. No costs.
