ORDER

This petition is filed seeking to quash the impugned Charge Sheet in C.C.No.2426 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Mahila Court, Madurai, which was filed for the offences under Sections 296(b), 324(4) and 351(3) of BNS, 2023, r/w Section 4 of Tamilnadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002.

The gist of the allegations in the final report is that the petitioners and the defacto complainant are neighbours and on 04.11.2024, at about 10.00 p.m., the petitioner abused the defacto complainant in filthy language and attempted to attack the defacto complainant with Aruval and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the parties have since arrived at a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 09.12.2025.

4. The petitioners and the second respondent are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.M.Murugappa, SSI, Karuppayurani Police Station, Madurai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. Considering the nature of allegation and the relationship between the parties, this Court in view of the fact that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned Charge Sheet in C.C.No.2426 of 2025 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Mahila Court, Madurai, is hereby quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memos dated 09.12.2025 shall form part and parcel of the order. Each of the petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs.2,500/-(Rupees Two Thousand and Five Hundred only) for establishing an E-Library to the credit of the MBHAA, in Indian Bank, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court Branch, Account No.496038755 IFSC No.IDIB000H040, MICR Code: 625019020, within a period of one week from today.

6.The petitioners are directed to file a memo along with the photocopy of the receipt before the Registry on or before 31.12.2025 List the matter on 02.01.2026, for reporting compliance
