Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's daughter Ms.S.Kanimozhi, aged 23 years, before this Court forthwith, ascertain her safety and liberty and set her at liberty if she is found under illegal confinement.

The petitioner is the mother of the detenue S.Kanimozhi. The petitioner stated that her daughter aged about 23 years, has been missing and therefore, she has made a complaint before the Police and a case was registered in Crime No.653 of 2025, dated 29.11.2025. Since the second respondent did not secure her daughter, they have filed the present petition for issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the daughter of the petitioner eloped with the third respondent and they have attained majority and they are aged about 23 years. Even the petitioner herself stated in paragraph 7 of the affidavit filed in support of Habeas Corpus Petition that the detenue and the third respondent married each other and they have surrendered before the Suchindram Police Station in Kanyakumari District and also produced the marriage photograph. The detenue also gave a letter to the Sub-Inspector of Police, Suchindram that she married the third respondent. Therefore, recording the same, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
