(Order of the Court was made by P.VELMURUGAN J.)

This Writ of Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the petitioner’s son, Mohamed Abdul Javid, male, who was 17 years old in the year 2000 and is presently aged about 42 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. The petitioner is the mother of Mohamed Abdul Javid, male, who was 17 years old in the year 2000 and is presently aged about 42 years. He has been missing since 02.12.2000. According to the petitioner, on that day, her elder son, Mohamed Abdul Mansoor, and her younger son, Mohamed Abdul Javid, went to the nearby mosque for prayer. At that time, her elder son left Mohamed Abdul Javid near Angalamman Koil at Ennore and proceeded to the mosque for prayer. However, when he returned after his worship, he could not find Mohamed Abdul Javid. Despite searching all known places, the family was unable to trace him. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the third respondent-Police on 03.12.2000. Pursuant to the complaint, a case in Crime No.752 of 2000 was registered for ''Boy Missing''. Since no effective action has been taken till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present petition.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner’s son viz., Mohamed Abdul Javid, now aged about 42 years, has been missing since 02.12.2000, the third respondent-Police is directed to secure the petitioner’s son within a period of four weeks and produce him before this Court.

5. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of.

6. List the matter “For Reporting Compliance’’ on 02.01.2026.
