This Writ of Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent-Police to secure the detenue, Amutha W/o.Govindan, aged 35 years, produce her before this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, his wife Amutha, female, aged 35 years, has been missing since 21.10.2025. Despite searching all known places, the family was unable to trace her. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent-Police on 22.10.2025, but no action was taken. Thereafter, he submitted a representation before the first respondent-Police on 30.10.2025, which was also not considered. It is further submitted that the petitioner’s mother-in-law also lodged a complaint before the second respondent-Police on 14.11.2025 seeking to secure the custody of her daughter. Since no effective action has been taken till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents-Police, on instructions, submitted that after receipt of the complaint, C.S.R.No.391 of 2025 was assigned. He further submitted that since the mobile phone of the petitioner’s wife has been switched off, the respondents-Police are not in position to trace her whereabouts.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

5. Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner’s wife Amutha, aged 35 years, has been missing since 21.10.2025, and that the complaint was lodged on 14.11.2025, pursuant to which C.S.R.No.391 of 2025 was assigned, this Court finds that no FIR has been registered till date. The second respondent-Police is directed to secure the petitioner’s wife on or before 12.12.2025 and produce her before this Court.

6. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of.

7. List the matter “For Reporting Compliance’’ on 15.12.2025.
