PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to provide adequate police protection and also to permit the petitioner and the Villagers to conduct Chithirai Kodai Festival, to be conducted on 08.12.2025 to 13.12.2025 based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.11.2025. ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed for providing police protection.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that there is a rival group, unless a peace committee meeting is conducted, the issue cannot be resolved. Therefore, this Court suo motu includes the Revenue Divisional Officer, Srivaikundam as the fifth respondent in this case.

3. The fifth respondent is directed to conduct the peace Committee meeting after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the private respondents and thereafter, pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. The said exercise shall be conducted on Sunday (i.e) on 07.12.2025.

4. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
