ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to set aside the charge sheet filed in Spl.S.C.No.28 of 2025 on the file of the learned Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, (POCSO Act, 2012), Puducherry.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that though the petitioners have instituted the present petition seeking to quash the proceedings in Spl.S.C.No.28 of 2025, they are not pressing the same. It is submitted that the petitioner would instead request this Court to issue a direction to the learned Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, (POCSO Act, 2012), Puducherry, to expedite and complete the trial in Spl.S.C.No.28 of

2025 within a prescribed period that may be fixed by this Court.

3. The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) appearing for the first respondent submits that there are, in total, ten witnesses in this case. He further submits that the charges have been framed and that the matter now stands posted on 05.12.2025 for examination of L.W.1.

4. In the light of the aforesaid submissions, this criminal original petition stands disposed of with a direction to the learned Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, (POCSO Act, 2012), Puducherry, to complete the trial in Spl.S.C.No.28 of 2025 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from 05.12.2025.
