The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to grant a freedom fighter pension to the petitioner based upon her representation dated 02.01.2023.

2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's father was a freedom fighter and he has been receiving the Freedom Fighter's Pension during his lifetime. After his demise, the petitioner, who is his legal heir is entitled for the said pension and hence, the petitioner has made a representation dated 02.01.2023, to the respondent seeking to grant Freedom Fighter's Pension to the petitioner and the same is pending consideration. Hence, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.

3.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioner would be considered within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, by directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated

02.01.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four [4] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.

5.Registry is directed to post this Writ Petition “for reporting compliance” on 06.01.2026.
