ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble P.VELMURUGAN J.)

This Habeas Corpus Petition is filed to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the

respondents to produce the body or person of the petitioner's daughter the detenu Gayathri,

D/o.Karupannan, aged about 24 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. On 26.12.2025, this Court passed the following order:

''The petitioner is the adopted father of the detenue.

The detenue has completed M.Sc., and is working at

MIAT Hospital in Ramavaram, Chennai. She left the

job and was residing with her father. On 23.12.2025,

when she went out, she did not return to home.

rd

Therefore, the petitioner made a complaint to the 3

respondent/police and they issued CSR No.1082/2025

as girl missing. Subsequently, the police have not

shown any progress. Hence, left with no other option,

the petitioner has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would

submit that the police is conducting enquiry and

finding out the whereabouts of the detenue.

3. Though the petitioner gave the complaint on

23.12.2025, even the FIR has not been registered so

far. Hence, the respondents are directed to secure the

detenue on or before 29.12.2025 and produce her

before this Court on 30.12.2025.

4. List the matter on 30.12.2025.''

3. Today, when the matter was called, the detenue was produced before this Court by the

respondents/police through video conferencing. She stated that she has attained majority;

while she was working in Chennai, she fell in love with one Kalasanth from West Bengal;

since her parents did not allow her to marry the said person, she on her own volition went out

of her home and married the said Kalasanth on 24.12.2025 in a temple and now she is living

with him. She further stated that she is not under illegal detention of any one.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents/police would also submit

rd

that on the complaint of the petitioner, the 3 respondent police has also registered an FIR in

Crime No.104 of 2025 under 'woman missing'

5. Thus, recording the statement of the detenue that she is not under illegal detention of any

one, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
