ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 17.09.2025 for counting the period of service in the post of Secondary Grade Teacher rendered in Government Aided School as pensionable service as well as pay protection in accordance with last drawn salary on appointment in Chennai Corporation School with consequential and other attendant benefits.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that she was initially appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher in Sri Arangiah Naidu Middle School, Ayanavaram, Chennai, which is a Government Aided School in the year 1992 and her appointment was duly approved by the Department. On 19.08.1998 she has relived from Aided School and joined the Chennai Corporation School without any break in service. The petitioner's previous service from 01.08.1992 to 25.01.1997 was counted for awarding selection grade as per G.O.ms.No.992 Education Department, dated 22.06.1979. However, while such service was recognised for selection grade benefits, the corresponding pay protection for her last drawn salary at the aided school was not extended upon joining the corporation school. Hence, the petitioner made a representation on 17.09.2025 for counting the period of service in the post of Secondary Grade Teacher rendered in Government Aided School as pensionable service as well as pay protection in accordance with last drawn salary on appointment in Chennai Corporation School with consequential and other attendant benefits and the same is not considered. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the representation will be considered and orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 17.09.2025 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
