under Backward Class Women Tamil (BCWT).

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the respondent thereby rejecting the request made by the petitioner seeking appointment to the post of Special Teacher Drawing.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is qualified for the post of Special Teacher Drawing and applied for the same as per the notification issued by the respondent dated 26.07.2017. After written examination and certificate verification, she scored 58 marks, however, she was not selected under the category of Backward Class Women Tamil (BCWT).

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was not called for certificate verification. Only after directions were issued by this Court, the petitioner was considered for certificate verification. The petitioner comes under the category Backward Class Women Tamil (BCWT). As per the first selection list, the cut off mark was fixed at 55. In the month of February, 2025, they published revised seniority list and accordingly, the cut off mark was fixed for the said category as 60. It is further submitted that they have not followed the communal roster while preparing the selection list.

4.A perusal of the counter and the submissions made on either side reveals that though initially the cut off mark for the category Backward Class Women Tamil (BCWT) was fixed as 55, as per the revised selection list, by following the communal roster, the cut off mark was fixed at 60 for the category of Backward Class Women Tamil (BCWT). Since the petitioner scored 58 marks and she is not coming under the zone of consideration for the post of Special Teacher Drawing, the petitioner’s request was rejected. Therefore, this Court is of the view that there is no illegality or infirmity in the impugned order.

5.Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. However, the petitioner has now raised so many grounds to challenge the selection list. Hence, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the selection list in accordance with law. No costs.
