PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 to 4

to determine the compensation payable to the petitioners in respect of the land admeasuring about 10 cents comprised in Survey No.57/1 situated at Moongilthuraipattu Village, Sankarapuram Taluk, then Villuppuram District now Kallakurichi District by invoking the provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation, Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (Act 30 of 2013) taking crucial / reference as on 01.01.2014 based on the petitioners representation dated 20.11.2025 and disburse the compensation within a time period to be stipulated by this Hon’ble Court.

ORDER

The petitioner asserts that she became the owner of land in Survey No.57/1 of the extent of 49 cents under gift settlement deed dated

14.05.2003. From and out of the said lands, about 10 cents were acquired under the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of lands for Harijan Welfare Scheme Act, 1978. On the ground that compensation was not paid in respect of such acquisition, the petitioner submitted representation dated 20.11.2025. The present writ petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for all the respondents. On the basis of written instructions, he submits that the inquiry has been scheduled on 12.01.2026 in relation to the petitioner’s representation. After providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, he submits that the representation would be disposed of on merits within four weeks

3. In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the fourth respondent to provide a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, conclude the inquiry and pass a speaking order within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.

Consequently, the connected writ miscellaneous petition is closed.
