ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post of Associate Professor in accordance with UGC Regulations 2010 with all monetary benefits by considering the petitioner’s representations dated 06.02.2020, 24.08.2021, 28.08.2025 and

03.11.2025.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that she was appointed as Lecturer (Physics) on 28.12.2006 in the respondent college and was regularized with effect from 30.12.2006. As the designation is changed, she is serving as Selection Grade Assistant Professor, till date. As per G.O.(Ms)No.101, Higher Education (H1) Department, dated 28.05.2018, and as reaffirmed in University Grants Commission Notification, New Delhi, the 6^th June, 2024 No.F.9-1/2010 (PS/MISC) Pt. Vol.II-I the Academic Grade Pay under Career Advancement Scheme to the Assistant Professors who have been appointed on or after 01.01.2006 in Government/Government Aided Colleges is sanctioned, to which the petitioner is also eligible for such sanction. Though the petitioner has sent several representations dated 06.02.2020, 24.08.2021, 28.08.2025 and 03.11.2025 seeking Career Advancement Scheme promotion from the cadre of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor, the same was not considered, as on date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.

4. Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner’s representations dated

06.02.2020, 24.08.2021, 28.08.2025 and 03.11.2025.

5. Learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner’s representations dated 06.02.2020, 24.08.2021, 28.08.2025 and 03.11.2025 will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

6. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

7. Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner’s representations dated 06.02.2020, 24.08.2021, 28.08.2025 and 03.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
