ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to quash the rejection order in Na.ka.No.141/Mike/SDOP/2025 dated 09/12/2025 passed by the 2nd respondent herein and consequently direct the 1st respondent to grant permission for Kabadi festival held on 15.01.2026 and 17.01.2026 at Anna Renovation Sports Stadium.
2. There are already two rival groups. One such rival group had approached this Court seeking police protection to conduct a Kabadi Tournament in the previous year. This Court recorded that one Satishkumar had approached the Court earlier and, therefore, granted permission to him. However, the writ petition filed by Bharatraj was disposed of by stating that since Satishkumar had approached this Court earlier, permission was granted to him, and the permission sought by Bharatraj was declined for that year.
3. Subsequently, Bharatraj approached this Court at the earliest by filing a writ petition in W.P. (Crl.) (MD) No. 2664 of 2025, dated 18.12.2025, and permission was granted to conduct the Kabadi Tournament from 15.01.2026 to 18.01.2026.
4. After passing the said order, the present writ petition has been filed by Satishkumar, seeking permission to conduct the Kabadi Tournament on the same dates.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the considered opinion that Bharatraj shall conduct the Kabadi Tournament on 15.01.2026 and 16.01.2026, and the petitioner shall conduct the Kabadi Tournament on 17.01.2026 and 18.01.2026.
6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of.
No Costs. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
