O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for the following relief:

“To direct the 2^nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.05.2025 and take proper action within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.”

2. The case of the petitioner is that his residential area is composed with people who profess different religion and customary beliefs. The petitioner submits that the 4^th respondent has erected a prayer hall specifically for the people who profess Islamic religion in the residential area without getting any proper approval from concerned authorities.

3. It is the further case of the petitioner that on 01.03.2025, the 4^th respondent has fixed a name board and also installed a loudspeaker to conduct prayers. The petitioner’s contention is that the 4^th respondent has not obtained necessary permission for construction of prayer hall under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Building Rules, 1972.

4. The petitioner submitted that prayer conducted by the 4^th respondent is creating nuisance and parking of vehicles on road is creating hindrance to general public. The petitioner submits that the 4^th respondent is causing inconvenience to the petitioner and other residents of that area. Therefore, the petitioner submitted his representation to the 1^st respondent on 17.03.2024 and the 1^st respondent forwarded the same to 2^nd and 3^rd respondents. On 07.05.2025, the petitioner has made a representation to the 2^nd respondent to take action against the 4^th respondent. Since there is no response, the petitioner is before this Court.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioner’s representation dated 07.05.2025 has been kept pending to date, this writ petition is allowed directing the 2^nd respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner’s representation dated 07.05.2025, within a period of 1 month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
