PRAYER: This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India prays for issuance of writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the proceedings of the 2nd Respondent dated 03.11.2025 in Na.Ka.No.17/2022/A2 and quash the same and consequently forbear the respondents from reducing the value of the land of the petitioner determined on 12.08.2022 in accordance with the provisions of Section 19(2) of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001.

ORDER

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner attended meetings with the respondents in relation to the determination of compensation. He also submits that compensation was agreed to in respect of four survey numbers. As regards S.Nos.392/2A, 2B, 2C and 2D, he submits that an agreement could not be reached. Given the narrow scope of disagreement, it is just and necessary that the petitioner and the respondents endeavour to resolve the outstanding issue.

2. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

The petitioner and the second respondent are directed to engage in further negotiations for the determination of compensation in respect of the relevant lands. Pursuant thereto, the second respondent is directed to determine the amount payable as compensation. Such determination shall be made within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
